Colleagues, friends, and family paid tribute to Neboj\u0161a Parki\u0107, a journalist and long-time member of the Europe House team.<\/p>\n

\u201eIt is impossible to put into words the sense of sorrow and loss that we all feel. I remember Neboj\u0161a from the very first day I arrived in Serbia and the passion that he showed when it comes to his work. He was never seeking recognition; he was simply doing it because it was simply his instinct to help people\u201c<\/em>, said the EU Ambassador to Serbia, Andreas von Beckerath<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, at the memorial service held at the Europe House.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Far too soon and unexpectedly, the Europe House lost one of its finest members. We will not remember him through this loss, but through the life he loved so deeply.<\/p>\n

Born in his hometown of Vr\u0161ac, Neboj\u0161a later moved to Novi Sad, where he completed his journalism studies. He began his career as a reporter and later became editor of the foreign affairs desk at Radio Television of Vojvodina<\/span><\/span>. He quickly became a trusted guest on political talk shows and a beloved colleague in the newsroom.<\/p>\n

He moved to Belgrade in 2019, where he first joined the EU Info Centre and later helped establish the Europe House in Belgrade, continuing his work in communications and the promotion of the European Union. He also worked for the EU Delegation to Serbia.<\/p>\n

The Europe House was Paki\u2019s second home, and he was an integral part of everything that happened there. Sharp-minded and overflowing with knowledge and ideas, he served as a connective force within the team, understanding the work of every colleague and selflessly offering support whenever it was needed.<\/p>\n

He possessed an extraordinary memory and encyclopedic knowledge, earning him the nickname \u201cPakipedia\u201d among colleagues. And when things were not going as planned, he would calm everyone down with his trademark phrase: \u201cDon\u2019t worry, it will get worse.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was a devoted supporter of Red Star Belgrade<\/span><\/span>, yet also the only one who regularly attended matches of Partizan Belgrade<\/span><\/span>. Spending time with friends and sharing experiences mattered more to him than any rivalry. He was also passionate about Formula One<\/span><\/span> and knew more about cars and circuits than many sports commentators.<\/p>\n

\u201eCuriosity, empathy, and a brilliant mind guided him through life. We are infinitely saddened by losing him and immeasurably proud to have had him in our lives\u201c,<\/em> said Neboj\u0161a\u2019s brother, Nikola Parki\u0107<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

There are people whose presence changes a room the moment they walk into it. Paki was one of them.<\/p>\n

We say goodbye to a man who had an extraordinary ability to find his way into people\u2019s hearts \u2013 quietly, almost unnoticed, yet profoundly. For his team and for all those who loved him, that is where he will remain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
