Organised by the <strong data-start=\"254\" data-end=\"281\">Europe House Novi Sad<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"290\" data-end=\"303\">EU Corner<\/strong>, this special edition of the <strong data-start=\"333\" data-end=\"350\">Socrates Caf\u00e9<\/strong> explored one of today&#8217;s most pressing questions: <strong data-start=\"400\" data-end=\"489\">Does economic development inevitably come at the expense of environmental protection?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"491\" data-end=\"824\">The discussion was led by <strong data-start=\"517\" data-end=\"538\">Dimitrije Radi\u0161i\u0107<\/strong>, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad and a long-standing member of the <strong data-start=\"633\" data-end=\"680\">Bird Protection and Study Society of Serbia<\/strong>. Dimitrije brought a unique perspective to the conversation, combining scientific expertise with a strong commitment to environmental activism.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"826\" data-end=\"1228\">\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\" data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"1228\"><em>&#8220;I have the impression that we are overwhelmed with information about the environment, and accessing it is no longer difficult. On the other hand, there may be a lack of guidance on the direction our thinking about environmental issues should take. What is generally missing from the public discourse is the ability to connect these issues to the bigger picture and provide them with proper context.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1230\" data-end=\"1531\">The discussion focused not only on ecology in the technical sense, but also on ethics.
