How do modern technologies change the way we communicate , build relationships and understand ourselves in the digital space? We will discuss these topics as part of the continuation of the discussion cycle on digital society and mental health.
The next event entitled “All shades of digital connectivity: AI and social isolation” is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25 at 5 p.m. at the European House Niš (Vožda Karađorđa 5).

In a time when we are constantly connected – through social networks, digital platforms and increasingly advanced AI tools, the question arises whether technology really connects us or sometimes deepens the feeling of loneliness? An increasing number of people today share thoughts, dilemmas and emotions with chatbots and virtual assistants, which raises important questions about trust, relationships and the boundaries between technology and human intimacy.
During the event, we will discuss the paradox of digital connectivity , how it is possible that we have never been more connected and at the same time many people feel isolated. Special focus will be on the role of artificial intelligence in modern communication and how interaction with AI affects the development of social skills, empathy, friendships and identity. We will also address the question of how to find a balance between digital tools and authentic interpersonal relationships.
He will talk about how AI changes the way we communicate, build relationships and experience closeness :
Prof. Dr. Bojana Dinić , full professor at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad. Her research focuses on socially toxic personality traits and behaviors in offline and online environments.
Maja Todorović is a master psychologist and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist with many years of experience working in the social welfare system, as well as experience working with adolescents and adults on the topics of mental health, communication and emotional regulation.
The event is organized by the European House Niš in cooperation with the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia and the Club for Mental Health Niš , as part of a cycle of talks dedicated to understanding the relationship between technology, society and mental health in the digital age. The Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia brings together researchers and experts who work on the development and application of artificial intelligence in various areas of society, while the Niš Mental Health Club brings together relevant institutions and organizations that in their daily work contribute to greater understanding and destigmatization of mental health topics.
