The Blood Transfusion Institute of Serbia and the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia invite citizens to donate blood on Thursday, 2 July 2026, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Europe House in Belgrade (corner of Knez Mihailova and Zmaj Jovina Street).
The event is part of the campaign organized by the Blood Transfusion Institute of Serbia throughout the summer months across the country to ensure sufficient blood reserves.
Europe House in Belgrade is one of several dozens of locations across Serbia where, during the summer campaign, the Blood Transfusion Institute collects the blood reserves needed for patients in emergency situations, childbirth, surgeries, cancer treatment, transplants, regular therapies, and many other serious medical conditions.
According to the Institute, around 1,000 units of blood need to be collected daily across Serbia in order to maintain stable supplies, while during the summer months blood reserves are often sufficient for only a single day.
“Blood donation is not merely a medical act; it is a powerful expression of solidarity, compassion, and shared responsibility. The idea that an entire sense of humanity can be reflected in a single drop of blood symbolically demonstrates how every donor becomes part of a chain that connects and protects us all,” emphasizes Blood Transfusion Institute of Serbia.
Any healthy person between the ages of 18 and 65 may become a voluntary blood donor, subject to a medical screening conducted at the donation site. More details are available at the LINK.
