Overview of key events:
1. European Mobility Week
From September 16 to 22, Serbia joins the rest of Europe in marking European Mobility Week 2026, under the theme “Mobility for All.” The campaign puts citizens’ perspectives at the heart of smart urban mobility planning, with special focus on intergenerational solidarity, connecting generations through walking and cycling.
This year’s programme in Serbia will cover Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, Novi Pazar, Aranđelovac, and Subotica. The campaign will open with a series of joint bike rides featuring representatives of the EU Delegation and partners, Olympic cyclist Ivan Stević, and local cyclists over 65 years old. Participants will cycle or walk to elementary schools and city squares, where interactive programmes will bring generations together and show that sustainable mobility is for everyone.
2. European Day of Languages / Children’s Workshops
European Day of Languages will be marked in Serbia on September 25, 2026, in Belgrade, at six locations, with the participation of 27 countries and organizations and more than 20 languages represented, including Serbian sign language. More than 1,000 students aged 12 to 18 will have the chance to discover Europe’s linguistic and cultural diversity through language games, quizzes, activities, and trial classes.
To celebrate European languages, Europe House Belgrade will organize children’s language workshops throughout September, where children will learn greetings and numbers in different European languages, create their own picture dictionary, and discover, through songs and rhymes, how many languages can fit into a single workshop.

3. Friday Movie Night
Europe House’s September film programme brings four contemporary European documentary and feature films that explore, from different perspectives, freedom, identity, equality, responsibility, and the relationship between the individual and the community. Although created in different social, cultural, and geographic contexts, these stories are connected by one question: how far are individuals willing to go to stand up for the values they believe in.
The programme opens with the Irish documentary “Thirty-Four,” which, as part of Pride Week, follows the ten-year struggle of the organization Marriage Equality for the right of same-sex couples to marry. Next are “Apolonia, Apolonia” by Danish director Lea Glob, as well as the Hungarian drama “Without Air” by Katalin Moldovai.

EU Opportunities Academy
4. EU Opportunities Academy
As part of the EU Opportunities Academy, a new thematic training session will be held on European Union programmes and current calls in the fields of culture, media, and civil society. The training will present relevant programmes and calls, participation requirements, and the basic steps in developing a project idea and preparing an application.
The training will take place on September 30, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Europe House Belgrade. It is intended for civil society organizations, cultural organizations and professionals, media representatives, local stakeholders, and others developing a project or an idea they want to take further.

5. Science In The House – Children of the Scientific Revolution
We’re continuing our science talks, whose loyal audience keeps growing month after month.
At September’s “Science at Home” talk, we go back to the time of Nicolaus Copernicus and his great “turning” of celestial bodies, but we don’t stay in the 16th century. From the heliocentric system, through Darwin and Einstein, all the way to quantum physics, we explore how scientific revolutions happen, and why they sometimes need a little more time to convince the world.
