Europe Month concludes with music, culture, and the Belgrade passport

Europe Month, during which we celebrated Europe Day, officially came to a close with another diverse program that resonated throughout Knez Mihailova Street.

The program marking the end of the May campaign dedicated to celebrating the European Union began with a new edition of our well-known Belgrade Passport initiative. Guided by Brajan Vojinović, Belgrade residents and tourists visited locations across the capital, collecting stamps and learning more about landmarks connected to Europe and its heritage.

From the French Cultural Center and the Blatobran Gallery to the Kula Gallery in Cetinjska Street, participants explored the sites featured in the passport and gained the opportunity to win some of the valuable prizes prepared for this edition. The prizes included French, German, and Spanish language courses, as well as other rewards such as artworks from the galleries featured in the passport.

In addition to the Belgrade Passport, passers-by and visitors in the city center were able to enjoy a rich musical program prepared for the occasion throughout Saturday afternoon.

The concerts in front of Europe House were opened by Jasna Jovićević Quinary and her ensemble. Visitors enjoyed her contemporary and experimental approach to jazz, for which Jasna is well known. Combining standard jazz instruments with less conventional ones such as the spacedrum, the internationally acclaimed saxophonist, composer, and artist brought a fresh sound to Knez Mihailova.

The conclusion of this year’s May program was marked by a free concert by the band VROOOM and the promotion of their new album, OUTPUT. For the audience gathered at the corner of Knez Mihailova and Zmaj Jovina streets, it was an opportunity to experience another side of the work of Marko Grubić, a composer who has created music for more than 60 theatre productions and received the Sterija Award for Best Original Music as well as the award for Best Production as a producer.
